I just want to say how wonderful and helpful this nurse Melissa Cruz was. She was always so friendly, kind, positive, and caring. She made us feel comfortable and supported throughout the entire experience. What really stood out was how much she genuinely cared. She even gave us her personal phone number in case we needed anything and was kind enough to answer our calls and questions, even when she wasn’t on shift. That level of dedication and compassion is truly rare. She went above and beyond to make sure we felt taken care of, and her positive attitude made such a difference. We are very grateful for everything she did and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a nurse who truly cares about her patients.

I’ve been here at the Arlington Gardens Care center since October 19th 2025 when I first got here there was a couple quirks but they got worked out I give it a five star rating because the overall care they provide is good. Nurses are friendly; and the physical and occupational therapy worked hard in trying to get me to walk again, however they could only do so much. The administrative employees are awesome in trying to help in anyway they can to handle situations as they arise in very a professional and caring way. I’m still a current resident here at Arlington Gardens Care center. Resident Timothy Barber Timothy Barber

We have had a very positive experience with this facility during a challenging time for our family. The leadership and staff have been receptive to feedback, open to communication, and genuinely willing to work with us to ensure my mom receives the care she needs. When concerns have been raised, they have been addressed thoughtfully and professionally, and we’ve seen real follow-through rather than defensiveness. The team has shown flexibility, compassion, and a willingness to go above and beyond to support my mom’s safety, comfort, and medical needs. It makes a significant difference to have a facility that views family members as partners in care. We are grateful for the staff’s efforts, responsiveness, and continued commitment to doing what’s best for their residents.

I never imagined I would have to write something like this, but what my father went through at this facility still haunts both of us. I’m sharing this because no family should ever have to experience the pain, fear, and frustration we went through. Food & Care: I would take him food because the food was awful—breakfast was the only meal he could tolerate at times, while lunch and dinner were sometimes so bad he could barely eat. Yes, the facility is clean, and a few staff members were genuinely kind, but the overall lack of care overshadowed everything. My Father’s Suffering: My dad was a fall risk, yet staff often took their time coming to help him to the restroom. Because of these delays, he developed seven UTIs. Seven. Eventually they put in a catheter, but even then he wasn’t safe. One day, they drained 1,500 mL of urine from him, and two days later, another 1,500 mL. Knowing he had been holding that much—suffering silently—still breaks my heart. Then his catheter clogged. He was in terrible pain, crying, saying he felt like he was going to vomit. And the nurse on duty told him there was “nothing they could do” until morning. Hearing that from him, hearing the fear in his voice, made me sick. When I spoke to his doctor, I was told he should have been taken to the hospital immediately. That level of neglect is unforgivable. He would push the call button and wait over an hour, terrified and uncomfortable, until he finally called me so I could call the facility and beg someone to check on him. His roommate even fell out of bed because the rails weren’t properly secured. Every day felt like a new crisis. Administration & Communication: I reached out to everyone—administrators, case workers, nurses—and it felt like shouting into a void. Nothing changed. Some staff truly cared. But others didn’t seem to care at all. One social worker sat in her ice-cold office while patients and nurses suffered in miserable summer heat. It felt like compassion was optional. The Feeling of Being Trapped: My dad was there from May through June. He was ready to go home long before they released him. Even the head nurse asked why he was still there. I honestly believe they were keeping him until the 100 days insurance pays for. That thought makes me sick to my stomach. I reported the facility, and although they confirmed violations, they wouldn’t tell me what they were. It felt like they were protecting the facility instead of the patients. The Aftermath: My dad came home with trauma, and nightmares. He told me that if he ever had to go to another care facility again, he simply wouldn’t. No one should ever be made to feel that way. My Plea to Other Families: I don’t understand how this place has 3 stars. I wouldn’t wish this experience on my worst enemy. If you love your family member, please—please—look somewhere else. I feel genuinely heartsick for the residents still there

Finding Ms. Magana by chance at our hospital was the best thing that could have happened for my mom. Mom got sick, had stopped eating completely, and was barely able to get out of bed. The hospital was going to discharge her with in-home nurse visits only and no therapy. Fortunately, I ran into Ms. Magana (Liz) in the lobby and we ended up talking about my mom’s situation. She had a brochure for Arlington Gardens and told me about the facility. She was able to walk me through the process of getting Mom transferred and admitted and now Mom is getting the care she needs! The facility is clean, well-kept, and professionally run. They offer all of the services that we’ll need to get mom back on her feet and fully enjoying and participating in her life again. Mom is already starting to improve and I’m so very grateful that we were able to find someone and somewhere that is turning her situation around. Thank you Liz, you’re a godsend!!

My mom was there for 2 weeks. Most of the staff were helpful and caring, especially Ana, Perla, Diana, Tavia, Santiago, and Lexi. Some staff are borderline neglectful. My mom was left without pain medication for hours. One assistant used a mean, almost yelling voice to get her to do things. I was very concerned about what happened when I wasn’t there. The facility should really look at who works for them.

They require every resident to wear a diaper, do they help in changing them? No. There are red buttons to call for nurse/help, they will respond within an hour.
